We are proud to be a member of the Alberta Association of Optometrists and to be enrolled as Eye See… Eye Learn® (ESEL) providers.
This program is dedicated to helping you detect and prevent eye health issues in your children from birth through to adulthood. More specifically, it emphasize the importance of bringing your children for a comprehensive eye exam to ensure their eyes are ready for school as 80% of learning comes from our vision. It is important to note that poor vision development also affects other sensory systems including motor development. The ESEL program provides a pair of free eyeglasses to kindergarten children who require a prescription.
Alberta Health covers the cost of complete eye exams for children ages 0-18. A child’s first eye exam is usually conducted between the ages of 6 and 12 months. Routine yearly eye exam are recommended thereafter.
